Votkinsk covers about 113 square kilometres, but the part that rewards walking is small, and the cathedral, the Anchor monument and the Tchaikovsky Museum sit close enough to take in over a single morning. Most of the rooms sit here.
The old shop and house frontages of Магазин Гуляева and Дом Пислигина give these streets their scale. The works side is the other half of the town. Votkinsk Ironworks still sets the grain of the streets nearest it, with the Kalashnikov Manufactory and the Red Hospital Almshouse among the buildings that period left standing, and the Statue of Lenin holding the open ground in the middle of them.
Rooms here are plainer. If you have come to Votkinsk for the plant rather than for the museum, this side saves the walk each morning. Parish streets are quieter still.
The Transfiguration Church, the Saint Panteleymon Church and церковь Георгия Победоносца stand away from the main axis, and the houses around them, among them Дом Пьянкова, Дом Лелякова, the Ovchinnikov House and the Bykov House, make up the least trafficked part of the old town. Nights pass quietly here. Little of it lies more than a walk from the Local government building and the centre.

Civic building came with it.
The Local government building and the Red Hospital Almshouse were put up for administration and for care, while the Kalashnikov Manufactory added a second industrial address to the first. Parishes built in parallel. The Annunciation Cathedral, the Transfiguration Church, the Saint Panteleymon Church and церковь Георгия Победоносца went up across the growing quarters, so no one street in Votkinsk holds them all.
Later decades changed the register. The Statue of Lenin took a central square, the Tchaikovsky Museum gave the town a second reason for visitors to come, and the built area spread across some 113 square kilometres of the Udmurt Republic.
