The places covered by doalu.com, a where-to-stay guide organised by area: 16,668 rows (187 countries, 1,888 regions, 7,087 cities, 7,506 districts), each with its page on doalu.com and its identifiers in Wikidata and GeoNames. Use it as a crosswalk between Wikidata QIDs, GeoNames IDs and a city → district hierarchy, or to link travellers to the right area guide.

Caveats

  • wikidata_qid is not unique: where Wikidata has one item for a city and its region or country (Berlin, Tokyo, Singapore, Oslo…), both rows carry it (104 items appear twice). Join on doalu_id for one row per place.
  • Population figures come from different years and definitions, so a child can exceed its parent (some districts exceed their city, some cities their region or country).
  • No coordinates or geometry: join wikidata_qid (Wikidata P625) or geonames_id for those, under their licences.
  • Some Romanian names use the cedilla letters ş/ţ instead of ș/ț, as in GeoNames.
