Not every neighbourhood fits every trip — here's what each one is good for.
Bandar Sunway pulls most of the beds. It sits against the Petaling Jaya boundary, close enough to the Lost City of Gold that visitors who book there rarely bother crossing into the quieter blocks of USJ or Putra Heights. The SS12 to SS19 blocks at the northern end are older and denser, with small hotels among the shops.
Batu Tiga lies further out. Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam are each within reach by road, which is why many stays in Subang Jaya are chosen for the drive rather than for the doorstep.

Two names stand out. Acts Church is one, the Lost City of Gold the other, and between them lies ground given over mostly to housing, laid out neighbourhood by neighbourhood from SS12 through USJ to Putra Heights. Bandar Sunway draws the outside visitors, though its PJS7, PJS9 and PJS11 blocks answer partly to Petaling Jaya rather than to Subang Jaya.
The same council also runs Puchong and Seri Kembangan.
What is the history of Subang Jaya?
The township dates from 1976. Building pushed outward from the first SS blocks into UEP Subang Jaya, then on to Putra Heights and Batu Tiga, until the developed ground filled the southern third of Petaling District. Subang Jaya City Council took charge of that ground, and its remit reaches past the district's own edges to Puchong and Seri Kembangan.
Bandar Sunway complicates the map. Its PJS7, PJS9 and PJS11 blocks fall partly under Petaling Jaya.
