A stay on that side trades the shoreline activity for fewer people, though it also means the short run back into Gölbaşı whenever anything is needed. Gölbaşı town itself is the practical option. The district centre carries the ordinary services and sits close enough to both lakes that neither is more than a few minutes off, which suits a stay built around driving rather than around a view.
Ahlatlıbel lies on the way in. Anyone heading on toward Ankara can take a room on that northern edge and reach Atakule, the Atatürk Museum Mansion and the Pembe Köşk on a short drive, which makes it the sensible base for a trip splitting between the lakes and the city.
