Beds in Çorlu gather along the Otoyol 3 and the D.100, not around Çorlu City Hall. This is a working town. Rooms serve textile buyers, food processors and freight moving between Istanbul and Turkey's border with Greece and Bulgaria, a weekday rhythm that has little to do with sightseeing and everything to do with the plants standing on the flatland.
Weekends thin out fast. The centre still repays a walk. Çorlu City Hall, the Çorlu Greek Orthodox Church and the Çorlu Muhacir House stand close enough together for one evening to cover all three, and a central room saves the drive back in from the industrial edge of the district. Misinli Castle lies further out.
Reaching it means a car and an hour across the flat ground of Eastern Thrace that gives Çorlu both its factories and its farms. Istanbul changes the calculation entirely. The larger city sits at one end of the same through route, so a traveller wanting more than an industrial township can sleep there and pass through Çorlu on the motorway instead. Tekirdağ is the nearer swap.

Syrallo is the older name. Its beginning carries no date. What joins the old name to the present district is mostly ground the town has since built over.
Modern industry remade the town. How do you get to Çorlu?
Otoyol 3 does most of the work. Çorlu stands on that motorway and just off the D.100, the pair carrying traffic between Istanbul and Turkey's border with Greece and Bulgaria across the Eastern Thrace plain. Tekirdağ Çorlu Atatürk Airport is the nearest field. Its position spares anyone flying in the long drive out from Istanbul, and the town's own name is on the terminal alongside that of Tekirdağ.
