The West Dyke Trail runs the whole western side of Seafair, a raised walking route between the neighbourhood's last row of streets and the open water of the Strait of Georgia. Houses fill the ground behind it. Granville Avenue, Railway Avenue and Williams Road frame the other three sides, and those arterials, rather than any single building, are what a visitor uses to place themselves inside Richmond.

Seafair belongs to Richmond, British Columbia, and takes the western end of Lulu Island as its ground. Its four boundaries, with Granville Avenue on the north, Railway Avenue on the east, Williams Road on the south and the West Dyke Trail on the west, came out of the road grid Richmond laid across the island, and they still enclose the same residential community. Water closes the fourth side.
The Strait of Georgia washes the dyke that the West Dyke Trail follows, and beyond it stretches the Pacific coast of Canada.
