Vårberga sends visitors toward the old town. The Porvoon tuomiokirkko, the medieval cathedral on the hill at Gamla Stan, is the landmark of the wider city and lies north-west of these streets. Eastern Uusimaa anchors its heritage on that riverside core, not on the south-eastern suburbs.

Vårberga occupies the south-eastern part of Porvoo, set back a little from the Gulf of Finland that the city meets to the south. It lies south-east of the historic core at Gamla Stan. Suburban streets fill the ground.
