Where to stay in Whitby
Where the beds are, and what that means for the visit.
Hotels are an Ellesmere Port Town matter. Whitby is residential ground, and a traveller looking for a bed near Christ Church or St. Thomas will find the choice sits in the town rather than in either of its two districts. Overpool is the same. Book centrally, and treat Whitby as a place to visit.

About Whitby
What are the main landmarks in Whitby?
Two churches carry the names. Christ Church and St. Thomas are the buildings recorded for Whitby, and beyond that pair the district offers no museum, monument, or set-piece of its own. Ellesmere Port Town holds the rest.
For anything on a larger scale, England beyond the town is the answer, since neither Whitby nor Overpool keeps a sight worth the journey by itself.
What is the history of Whitby?
The churches are the fixed points. Nothing longer is set down for Whitby itself, and what stands in the record is a district of Ellesmere Port Town holding Christ Church and St. Thomas, with Overpool alongside it under the same town. The town owns the narrative.
Whitby's own past is folded into that of Ellesmere Port Town, and a reader after dates and turning points should begin with the town rather than the district.
Where is Whitby?
Two districts split the town. Whitby is one of them, sharing Ellesmere Port Town with Overpool, and the whole sits in England.
