Central Leeds is the practical base. Industry takes up most of Stourton, and the older buildings that survive among the yards, Thwaite House and Ebor House among them, are not places to stay. Thwaite Watermill draws what visitors do come, and it sits closer to the water than to any hotel.
Nothing about the setting is scenic, and that is the trade: quick road access on the Hunslet side, with the whole of central Leeds a short ride back in.
