Where to stay in Broadwater
Not every neighbourhood fits every trip — here's what each one is good for.
Broadwater keeps few beds of its own, so most visitors book down in Worthing and come up to the churchyard and the High Street on foot. St Mary's Church marks that core. Anyone choosing the Woodside Road side gets Manor Sports Ground and the open ground towards Offington, at the cost of a longer walk to East Worthing and the sea.
Tarring lies west, Sompting east.

About Broadwater
What are the main landmarks in Broadwater?
St Mary's Church anchors the old parish, and its churchyard is the reason Broadwater still reads as a village centre inside Worthing. Broadwater Manor House stands nearby. The listed fabric runs on through the Old Castle, Banner Cottage, Ace House, and the pair of frontages at 12 and 14 High Street.
St Andrew's Church and the Queen Street Fellowship serve the Worthing side of the boundary. Manor Sports Ground opens off Woodside Road.
What is the history of Broadwater?
Broadwater ran its own parish affairs long before Worthing did, and it counted the shoreline hamlet that became the town among its own land. The manor of Offington lay to the north. That ended in 1902.
Incorporation into the Borough of Worthing folded the parish into the growing town, though St Mary's Church, the Broadwater Manor House and the Old Castle all outlast the change.
Where is Broadwater?
Broadwater sits inland of the Worthing seafront on the ground between the South Downs and the English Channel, with Tarring west and Sompting east.
