What is the history of Govanhill?
Historically it was Renfrewshire ground. Govanhill held the status of a police burgh between 1877 and 1891 before it was taken into the City of Glasgow, and the council's Southside Central ward has covered it since 2007. An earlier ward of the same name ran between Butterbiggins Road and Dixon Road.
Victoria Road bounded it west, Aikenhead Road east.
