What is the history of Cadoxton?
Cadoxton was a village first. Separate from Barry in its own right, it took shape around Saint Cadoc's parish church, and the Welsh name Tregatwg still records that older settlement rather than the district the maps now show. The church survives.
Later additions are recent by comparison: Cadoxton Primary School, Cadoxton Nursery and the Crystal Springs Conservation Group, founded in 2005 to campaign against housing on the field opposite Victoria Park.
