What are the main landmarks in Seomyeon?
Seomyeon carries two named markers, and they pull in opposite directions. Busanjinseong stands for the older Busanjin ground, a name that reaches back well past the commercial blocks packed around the crossroads of Bujeon-dong. The other is green.
Hwangnyeongsan Leports Park counts among the landmarks of Busan as a whole as well as those of Seomyeon, and it gives the quarter open ground of a kind the shopping streets cannot.
What is the history of Seomyeon?
Seomyeon names an area, not a dong. The administrative ground beneath it is Bujeon-dong, one of the dong that make up Busanjin District, and the older romanisation Seo-myeon still attaches to the same crossroads. Busanjinseong is the deeper layer.
That older ground long predates the commercial centre and the transport hub grown across it, and it stays the one part of Seomyeon whose standing is not measured in shopfronts.
