What is the history of Sokol?
Sokol grew from an old village and a garden city. The village of Vsekhsvyatskoye, with its All Saints Church, held the ground first, and the cooperative cottages of the Sokol Settlement rose beside it as one of the early garden suburbs. The district dates to 1938.
From that founding, Sokol took its name from the settlement and became the leafy quarter of Moscow it remains.
