What is the history of Kirovsky City District?
The name changed before the district did. Formed in 1930 as the Zaobsky District on the left bank of the Ob, it took the name Kirovsky City District in 1934 as Novosibirsk industrialised across the river. Growth kept splitting it apart.
In 1970 the eastern half broke away to form Leninsky City District, leaving Kirovsky City District with the shoreline blocks and rail approaches it holds around Bugrinskaya Roshcha.
