About Oktyabrsky City District
What are the main landmarks in Oktyabrsky City District?
The Monument to Alexander III stands inside the borough, on the Ob embankment opposite the preserved span of the old railway bridge. Bolshevistskaya Street runs south-east from Engineer Budagov Square along the right bank through Oktyabrsky City District. It is over seven kilometres long.

What is the history of Oktyabrsky City District?
Oktyabrsky City District dates to 1929. Before that it was Zakamensky, one of the oldest built parts of Novosibirsk. The constructivist decade that raised the 100-flat building and the Soyuzzoloto House worked the far side of the western boundary, and the House of Artists and the Belyin House went up there as well.
The Church of the Protection of the Theotokos held the older parish thread on that same side. Inside the borough, the Monument to Alexander III recalls the imperial railway years that first drew settlers to Novosibirsk. A long thread runs here.
Where is Oktyabrsky City District?
Oktyabrsky City District takes the right bank of the Ob south-east of central Novosibirsk, with the Dinamo Sports Complex just past its north-western corner.
