Rybatskoye, Kolpino — Area Guide & Where to Stay

Rybatskoye is a municipal okrug of Nevsky District in Saint Petersburg, strung along the Neva River at the city's far south-eastern edge.

About Rybatskoye

Where to stay in Rybatskoye

The right area depends on your trip — here's what each neighbourhood is best for.

Rybatskoye is a commuter address. Rooms out here sit far from the central sights, with the Neva River on one side and the ordinary streets of Nevsky District on the other, so a stay makes sense mainly for someone whose business falls at this end of Saint Petersburg. The Neva marks its edge.

Anyone here for Slepushkin House or the wartime graves toward Novosaratovka finds the okrug quiet and residential, while travellers after the historic core book far closer in.

About Rybatskoye

What are the main landmarks in Rybatskoye?

Two old buildings carry the okrug. Slepushkin House and the School building in Rybatskoye are the pieces of local fabric the register records, modest domestic and civic work rather than anything raised for display. War graves fill out the list.

The clergy house of the Church of the Intercession stands among them, and burial places of Baltic Fleet sailors lie within the okrug and out toward Novosaratovka.

What is the history of Rybatskoye?

The okrug was once a number. Rybatskoye carried the label Municipal Okrug 52 before it took the settlement's own name, and the older village fabric of Slepushkin House and the School building in Rybatskoye stood through the change without being touched by it. The war is written into the ground.

A mass grave of sailors from the gunboat Sestroretsk lies toward Novosaratovka, and another holds men of the Krasnoselskaya naval railway artillery who died in 1943.

Where is Rybatskoye?

Rybatskoye covers some nine square kilometres of Nevsky District, laid along the banks of the Neva River at the far south-eastern edge of Saint Petersburg.
