Rooms are limited.
Those who cannot find a bed in the quarter itself stay in central Kazan and cross the Bolaq to reach it.

İske Bistä is a district of mosques. The Märcani Mosque anchors it, and within a short walk stand the Soltan Mosque, the Apanayıf Mosque, the Nurulla Mosque, and the older İske Taş Mosque, their minarets rising over the low Tatar streets between the Bolaq and the lakeshore. The Äcem Mosque and Bornay Mosque add to the count.
Among them stands the Gabdulla Tukay monument, honouring the Tatar poet whose name the surrounding streets carry.
What is the history of İske Bistä?
İske Bistä grew as the Tatar quarter of Kazan. When the city's Tatar population was pushed out beyond the Bolaq canal, this district became the settled home of its mosques, merchants, and craft trades, and the streets filled in around them over the generations that followed. Stone prayer houses replaced timber ones.
The Märcani Mosque rose here as the first stone mosque built in the city after the conquest, and the İske Taş Mosque followed as the quarter took its lasting shape.

İske Bistä stretches south from the heart of Kazan along the Bolaq canal, a low quarter of Tatar streets pressed between the water and the lakeshore, with the towers of the Qazan Kremlin standing away to the north beyond the old channel.
