Universiade Village is a campus behind a perimeter fence. Entry runs on a pass system. Its 28 residential blocks house students of Kazan Federal University and the Volga Region State University of Physical Culture, Sport and Tourism.
Prospekt Pobedy metro station is about a kilometre away, 10 to 15 minutes on foot. Bus 47 runs to the centre and Zarechye, and trolleybuses 8 and 11 follow Akademika Parina Street.

What are the main landmarks in Universiade Village?
The games left the village its sights. The media centre, the International Administrative and Information Centre of 45,000 square metres, holds the world's first Universiade Museum. Also in the village are the Tennis Academy, the Burevestnik pool and a stadium.
The project, a finalist at the FIABCI Prix d'Excellence for its contribution to youth and sport infrastructure, cost 14.4 billion roubles.
What is the history of Universiade Village?
Building began in June 2009, with up to four thousand builders and students on site. Students moved in first. The first complex, two clusters of the Kazan Federal University campus with 20 residential blocks for more than seven thousand people, opened in August 2010, and the third cluster followed in September 2011.
The village was formally opened for the Universiade on 29 June 2013. In 2015 it housed about half of the participants of the World Aquatics Championships, and in August 2016 it lodged 900 delegates of the VII World Forum of Tatar Youth.

Universiade Village is one large rectangular block along Pobedy Avenue and Akademika Parina Street, its long axis running north-east to south-west.
