What is the history of Huai Khwang?
Huai Khwang grew as Bangkok pushed east. What had been low canal-crossed ground on the fringe of the capital filled with roads and blocks as the city spread outward from its old core, and the district was carved out to govern the swelling eastern suburbs. Farmland turned to frontage.
The klongs that once drained the flats gave way to the avenues now shared with Chatuchak, Ratchathewi and Watthana.
