The Circuito Histórico, Turístico e Cultural da Ribeira gathers thirty attractions. Inside the Centro Cultural Casa da Ribeira are a theatre, a visual-arts room and a common room, and the Museu de Cultura Popular Djalma Maranhão stands nearby.

What is the history of Ribeira?
Ribeira is the historic quarter of Natal, and its buildings show it. The Lei de Operação Urbana da Ribeira of 1997, revised in 2007, granted tax and building concessions to bring people back, restore the historic fabric and draw investment. Towers have followed, among them the Mirante João Olímpio Filho, the tallest in the city.
