The complex gathers the Air Force Museum of Alberta, the Army Museum of Alberta and the Naval Museum of Alberta under one roof. Altadore was laid out in 1945. The neighbourhood took its inner-city form in the southwest of Calgary, filling the ground between 33rd Ave SW and 50th Ave SW as postwar building spread outward. River Park closed its eastern side.
