One entry carries the district. The Sites of the Battle of Yijiangshan Islands are what Jiaojiang District records as heritage, memorial ground tied to the Yijiangshan Islands rather than to any street inside Taizhou's seat. Past that one entry, the register stops.
That leaves the Jiao River itself as the most visible feature here, and a walk along it comes closer to the point than any search for monuments would.
What is the history of Jiaojiang?
A founding year is nowhere in the sources. Jiaojiang District takes its name from the Jiao River, and that naming is the plainest fact about its origins, since water rather than a charter fixed where the settlement sat. Administrative rank came later.
The district became the seat of Taizhou, which makes it the place from which a prefecture-level city in Zhejiang is governed, and 椒江区 is the form official records use. The Yijiangshan Islands enter the record separately, through the sites the district lists as heritage from the battle fought there.
