What are the main landmarks in Černovír?

What is the history of Černovír?

Černovír is first mentioned in 1249, as Crinivir, a name taken from a dangerous whirlpool at the river crossing. The river shaped it. Hradisko monastery owned the village from at least 1429 until 1784, the Morava flooded it again and again, and two forward forts of the Olomouc fortress, I and XXII, were built on its land.

The military cemetery holds soldiers of many nations who died in a nearby military hospital in the First World War. Self-governing from 1850, Černovír joined Greater Olomouc in 1919. Its Hussite congregation built the Prokop Holý church on the square in 1938-1940, and the Morava flood of 1997 destroyed 70 of its 300 houses.
