The heavy names sit just outside. What is the history of Tuckton?
Tuckton is old on paper. First recorded in 1271, it was a hamlet in the tithing of Tuckton and Wick until 1894, when the Local Government Act replaced every tithing in England and Wales with civil parishes and district councils. Tuckton then joined the civil parish of Southbourne, which the Borough of Bournemouth absorbed in 1901.
Wick House still carries the other half of that tithing's name.
