About Eddington
What are the main landmarks in Eddington?
Market Square is the hub. The University of Cambridge Primary School, which took its first pupils in 2015, fills a ring-shaped building by Marks Barfield, and the Storey's Field community centre beside it was nominated for the 2018 Stirling Prize. On the western bank of Brook Leys lake stands the Fata Morgana Tea House by Wolfgang Winter and Berthold Hörbelt, made almost entirely of stainless steel grating.

What is the history of Eddington?
The name honours Arthur Eddington, who led the expedition to Príncipe that photographed the solar eclipse of 29 May 1919 to test Einstein's general theory of relativity. The wider development opened to the public on 9 September 2017. In 2018 a very large Roman villa was excavated beside the Park & Ride.
Where is Eddington?
Eddington is part of Phase I of the North West Cambridge Development, a university site north-west of Cambridge city centre, and spans the Castle Ward of the city and Girton, a parish in South Cambridgeshire. The artificial Brook Leys lake lies between the site and the M11.
