What is the history of Dringhouses?
Dringhouses once answered to the West Riding of Yorkshire, and the ceremonial county around it is now North Yorkshire, a rewriting of boundaries that left the suburb itself where it had always stood on the road out of York. The name stayed. City of York took it into a ward paired with Woodthorpe, an area of 4.3 square kilometres counted together at the census of 2011.
