What are the main landmarks in Sector 4?
Sector 4 keeps a run of Bucharest's monastery churches. Radu Vodă Monastery stands over the surrounding streets, one of the older religious houses in this part of the city. Antim Monastery and the Domnița Bălașa church stand nearby, their walled courtyards holding back the noise of the streets and marking the sector as one of Bucharest's older religious quarters.
Bucur Church is smaller still. The little chapel anchors a quiet corner of Sector 4.

Sector 4 grew up around its monasteries. Radu Vodă Monastery and Antim Monastery began as walled religious houses when Bucharest was a far smaller place, and the Domnița Bălașa church rose later among the streets that gathered near them. Bucur Church predates the streets.
Around these old walls the parishes of the surrounding district slowly took shape.
