What is the history of Al Mansurah?
Al Mansurah grew from a rest stop on the pilgrim road that reached Riyadh from the east. It began as a khan. The quarter took the name Khanshaleelah after Jaleelah bint Abdul Mohsen ad-Dar'iy, who gave her house over as a caravanserai for travellers pressing on toward Mecca, and that lodging fixed the district's place on the Hajj route.
Over the years the name softened into Al Mansurah, and the old halting ground settled into the southern fabric of Riyadh beside Manfuhah.
