About Olaya
What are the main landmarks in Olaya?
Olaya keeps two of Riyadh's most recognisable towers within a few blocks of each other. The skyline does the talking. Kingdom Centre lifts its inverted-arch crown and sky bridge over the northern strip, while Al Faisaliah Centre answers to the south with a four-legged shaft and a glass sphere near its top.
Culture sits at street level too, where the Naila Art Gallery shows contemporary work and the Alfaisal Islamic Art Museum gathers older pieces. Both towers carry viewing decks.
What is the history of Olaya?
Olaya grew as Riyadh spread north from its old walled core and turned this stretch into a commercial quarter. The towers came later. Al Faisaliah Centre rose first as the city's early high-rise landmark, and Kingdom Centre followed to give the district the twin-tower skyline that now frames Olaya Street from end to end.
The malls and galleries thickened around them. What had been open ground on the edge of Riyadh settled into the business and shopping heart that carries the Naila Art Gallery and the Alfaisal Islamic Art Museum among its towers.
Where is Olaya?
Olaya fills a subtropical stretch of central Riyadh, its grid of towers and malls set along Olaya Street between Kingdom Centre in the north and Al Faisaliah Centre to the south.
