What is Mwanza Region known for?

Mwanza Region takes in a long stretch of the Lake Victoria shore, and the water is also its northern boundary, separating it from Kagera Region and Mara Region on the far side. Inland the ground runs south and east into Shinyanga Region and Simiyu Region, while Geita Region closes the map off to the west. Mwanza, the regional capital, gives the whole unit its name.
