What is Morogoro Region known for?

Morogoro Region covers ground comparable to the whole of Ireland, which is a great deal of country to hold under one regional administration. Eight regions share its boundary. That count runs from the Manyara Region in the north round to the Njombe Region in the west, and every one of those boundaries is an internal Tanzanian one.

Morogoro itself is the municipality that runs it.

All of it lies south of the equator, so a northern calendar is the wrong instrument for planning, and Morogoro town gives a middle reading rather than either extreme.

How do you get to Morogoro Region?

This region is hard to avoid. The Dodoma Region lies along its western boundary and the Pwani Region along its eastern one, so movement between the interior and the country's eastern side has Morogoro Region in the middle of it. Morogoro town is the stopping point.

The municipality is the regional capital, and on a crossing of this length it is the obvious place to break a journey rather than push on to the Lindi Region or the Iringa Region.
