Beds concentrate near the river. Nikopol's core stands back from the Dnieper by only a few streets, so a room in the central grid puts the embankment, the Church of the Transfiguration, and the main squares inside an easy walk. Choices are modest.
Guesthouses and small hotels carry most of the demand, and the city is compact enough that a visitor without a car can still reach the Taras Shevchenko monument, the Church of the Theotokos of the Sign, and the water in one unhurried loop. The older ground lies a little apart, and the memorial sign to Mykytynska Sich, along with the exposed foundations of the Intercession church and of the Saint John of Damascus church, gives a reason to book on that side rather than on the embankment. Memorials fill the squares between.
Monuments to Viktor Usov and to Ivan Hanchev stand among them, and the Taras Shevchenko monument gives the walk a fixed point. Beyond the city limits, Nikopol Raion thins quickly. Rooms out in Nikopol Raion are few.
Anyone with a car can just as easily base in Kryvyi Rih or Zaporizhzhia and take Nikopol as a day on the Dnieper, though the river reads better from a room facing it.
