Dnipro Raion, Kyiv — Area Guide & Where to Stay

Dnipro Raion is a left-bank district of Kyiv, holding the Darnytsia and Nova Darnytsia neighbourhoods along the Dnipro.
About Dnipro Raion

Where to stay in Dnipro Raion
The right area depends on your trip — here's what each neighbourhood is best for.
Dnipro Raion spreads across the left bank of the Dnipro, a working part of Kyiv where residential blocks in Darnytsia and Nova Darnytsia hold small hotels and rented rooms rather than grand riverfront addresses. Beds run practical here. Stay near the Saint Nicholas Sviatosha church for a quieter residential pocket, or closer to the old Darnytsia car-repair plant if you want the transit spine of the raion within easy reach of the river bridges into central Kyiv, whose landmarks lie a short ride west.
The Museum of Embroidery anchors a calmer block worth choosing for a settled stay.
About Dnipro Raion
What are the main landmarks in Dnipro Raion?
The raion keeps its markers close to its own streets. Two churches stand out. The Saint Nicholas Sviatosha church holds one parish, while the Церква святителя Феодосія Чернігівського serves the Нова Дарниця quarter with its own congregation, and the Monument to Andriy Malyshko honours the Ukrainian poet on a left-bank square.
Two small museums round out the district: the Музей вишивки gathers embroidery, and the Музей історії КП «Київпастранс» records the transit history of Kyiv. A memorial sign marks the Darnytsia car-repair plant workers who fell in the Second World War.
What is the history of Dnipro Raion?
Dnipro Raion was formed in 1969 as an administrative district on the left bank of Kyiv. Railways shaped it first. The Darnytsia car-repair plant and its rail yards drew workers to the quarter through the last century, and a memorial sign in the raion still names those plant workers who fell in the Second World War.
Newer housing filled the Нова Дарниця quarter around the older settlement, and the Музей історії КП «Київпастранс» keeps the record of the tram and trolleybus lines that tied the growing left bank to central Kyiv.
Where is Dnipro Raion?
Dnipro Raion lies on the flat left bank of the Dnipro in Kyiv, a stretch of roughly 67 square kilometres of housing blocks, rail yards, and river-plain around Darnytsia.
