Bảo Lộc keeps its rooms in the central wards. Wards I and II hold the markets, the offices and most of the beds, and staying among them puts the working city, rather than the tea country outside it, within a few minutes on foot. The three central wards run together, so the walk between them is short.
The choice is modest. Travellers stopping between the lowlands and the higher Central Highlands generally take a room here, because the alternative means driving out into the hills after dark. B'lao is the third of the central wards.
It carries the name the tea took, and it was the capital of the old Bảo Lộc district before the city absorbed it, which gives that quarter a slightly older feel than the numbered wards. Tea fills the space beyond. Out that way, guesthouses are scarce.
If you want the tea country itself, a base in B'lao or on the outer edge of the city shortens the run out to the slopes, though rooms of any kind thin out fast once the streets end and Lâm Đồng Province turns to hillside.
