Mũi Né keeps its beds at the working end of the shore. Rooms in the ward front Mui Ne Bay, where the fleet lands beside the guest houses, and they run fewer and plainer than along the resort frontage that fills Ham Tien and Phu Hai, the neighbouring wards west along the coast road. The fleet sets the hours.
Stay here if you would rather wake to boats than to a bar. One road serves the whole line, so the 220 km run out from Ho Chi Minh City comes in through Phan Thiết and ends at the harbour.

What are the main landmarks in Mui Ne?
Mũi Né's landmark is the bay it stands on. Mui Ne Bay curves in front of the ward, the fleet draws up along its sand, and the boats and drying racks at the harbour keep the older trade in plain sight. The harbour still works.
The long line of resorts that visitors picture is not in the ward. That frontage runs along Phan Thiet Bay through Ham Tien and Phu Hai, the neighbouring wards west along the coast road toward the centre of Phan Thiết.
What is the history of Mui Ne?
Mũi Né worked as a fishing town on the Bình Thuận coast long before the first resort went up. The solar eclipse of October 24, 1995 drew crowds out from Ho Chi Minh City, and many of those who came saw these beaches for the first time. Building followed through the mid-nineteen-nineties.
In 1999 the town became a ward of the City of Phan Thiết. Fishing did not stop, and boats still put out from the harbour while guests sleep along the same sand.
Where is Mui Ne?
Mũi Né sits at the far end of Phan Thiet Bay, past the wards of Phu Hai and Ham Tien, with Mui Ne Bay along its own shore.
