What is the history of Marzahn?
Marzahn traces back to the Germanisch-slawische Siedlung von Berlin-Marzahn and the old village at the Dorfkirche Marzahn. Settlement here runs deep. In 1990 an overbuilt strip at Ahrensfelde passed from Brandenburg into Berlin, and in 2001 the former boroughs of Marzahn and Hellersdorf were fused into the single Marzahn-Hellersdorf borough.
