Bemerode has been on Hannover's Stadtbahn since 1999, on the line built for the Expo. Line 6 runs along the Bemeroder Straße with five high-platform stops, then dips below ground at Brabeckstraße, one of only two U-Bahn stations outside the inner city. Four more stops serve the Kronsberg before the line ends at Messe/Ost.
On fair days line 16 runs too.

About Bemerode
What are the main landmarks in Bemerode?
Bemerode's old village core on the Wülfeler Straße keeps a neo-Gothic brick chapel, St. Johannis of 1867, beside the von Graevemeyer estate and the Rittergut Bemerode II, whose park oak is a protected natural monument. The newer St.-Johannis-Kirche of 1962 stands near the Rathausplatz. Up on the Kronsberg, the Evangelical Church Centre Kronsberg serves the new estate.

What is the history of Bemerode?
Bemerode is first named in 1204. In 1735 the army of the Electorate of Brunswick-Lüneburg held a great review here. The village joined Hannover in 1974, together with Anderten and Wülferode.
A second Bemerode rose in the late 1990s on the western slope of the Kronsberg: the Expo 2000 quarter, the first estate of over 70 hectares in Germany built throughout to low-energy standards. Nearly half of Bemerode's people now live there.
Where is Bemerode?
Bemerode lies between the Südschnellweg to the north and the Messeschnellweg to the west, and only fields part it from Wülferode on the far slope of the Kronsberg.
