Museums crowd the quarter: the Museu de la Ciutat de València, the Museu Catedralici i Diocesà de València, the Centre del Carme Cultura Contemporània and L'Iber, Museo de los soldaditos de plomo. Churches and convents fill the rest, among them the church of Saint Stephen, the Església del Salvador de València, the Church of Saint Lawrence and the Convent of Puritat i Sant Jaume.

What is the history of La Seu?
Valentia Edetanorum came first. The Roman city walls of Valencia and the excavations at the Centre Arqueològic de l'Almoina expose that layer, and the Restos arqueológicos de la Almoina y Cárcel de San Vicente are recorded on the same ground. Later centuries added the church of Saint Stephen, the Convent del Carme and the Convent of Puritat i Sant Jaume.
Administration arrived with the Provincial Council of Valencia, and a water mill at Salvador Giner street is listed among the survivals. The barrio's own boundaries date from 1979.
