About Anttilanmäki

What are the main landmarks in Anttilanmäki?

The old wooden streets are the draw. Apart from that quiet hill, Anttilanmäki keeps the rest of Lahti's attractions close at hand: the downtown museums, the Vesijärvi waterfront, and the long Salpausselkä slopes the city climbs. Möysä lies east, Kiveriö above.

What is the history of Anttilanmäki?

Anttilanmäki is one of central Lahti's older wooden-house quarters. As the regional capital of Päijät-Häme grew after its charter in 1905, the timber homes on this hill survived close to the centre while the city spread out across the Salpausselkä esker around them.

Where is Anttilanmäki?

Anttilanmäki occupies the central part of Lahti. It rises on a low hill near the core, with Möysä on the eastern side and Kiveriö up on the north-eastern heights, all close to the Salpausselkä esker that the whole city is built across above Vesijärvi.
