Juan-les-Pins puts beds within a few streets of the sand, which is why beach-first visitors to Antibes pick this quarter over the old town. The seafront runs along boulevard Édouard Baudoin, and the clubs and the casino stand behind it around the Pinède Gould. Nights start late.
Gare de Juan-les-Pins sits a short walk inland on the Marseille-Ventimiglia railway, so Nice and Cannes are both easy runs along the Alpes-Maritimes coast. Quieter rooms lie up the slope, away from the strip.

What are the main landmarks in Juan-les-Pins?
Juan-les-Pins keeps its landmarks on the shore. The Pinède Gould, the stand of stone pines that gave the quarter its name, holds the open-air stage of Jazz à Juan, and boulevard Édouard Baudoin runs the length of the beach below it. Notre-Dame de la Pinède stands a few streets back from the sand, and Port Gallice closes the bay to the east.
The commune's best-known sights are not in this quarter. The Picasso Museum, Port Vauban and the Château Grimaldi lie about two kilometres north-east in old Antibes, and Notre Dame de la Garoupe crowns Cap d'Antibes beyond Port Gallice.
What is the history of Juan-les-Pins?
Juan-les-Pins took its name in 1882 from the pine wood where the people of Antibes walked and gathered cones. A station on the Paris-Lyon-Méditerranée line was agreed the following year. The quarter's character was set in the 1920s by Frank Jay Gould, who built the Provençal for his casino guests, and by Édouard Baudoin, who had the casino built and gave the seafront boulevard his name.
Sidney Bechet married here in 1951. Jazz à Juan opened under the pines of the Pinède Gould in 1960.
Where is Juan-les-Pins?
Juan-les-Pins takes the south-western shore of Antibes, between Cap d'Antibes to the east and the village of Golfe-Juan to the west. The Mediterranean is the front edge.
