The story of this ground runs deep. The quarter lies east of the Old Town of Nice, hemmed by the Colline du Château on one side and the rise of Mont Boron on the other. Its southern edge meets the Port Lympia. Down at the water stands the Église Notre-Dame du Port, and Place Garibaldi marks the western corner where Riquier gives way to the city centre.
