What is the history of Bradwell Abbey?

Benedictines founded the priory around 1154, and it stood until the dissolution took it in 1524, leaving ground that is scheduled as a monument and put to work as an urban studies site. The name outlived the house. Bradwell Abbey served as a civil parish from 1858 until 2011, when that arrangement ended and the district kept the title anyway.
