About Nariman Point
What are the main landmarks in Nariman Point?
Marine Drive defines the district. The bay-front boulevard bends around the water and gives Nariman Point its skyline of business towers above the promenade, and its lamps trace the curve after dark. Institutions ring the seafront core on the landward side.

What is the history of Nariman Point?
Nariman Point was raised from the sea, reclaimed off the tip of the Mumbai peninsula as an extension of Marine Drive and named for a Parsi civic leader. The ground itself had to be made first. Over the decades the flat new ground was let to banks, airlines, and trading houses, and the cluster of high towers that followed pulled the city's commercial weight south until the point was read as the business district of Mumbai.
The older institutions kept their place inland. The Asiatic Society of Mumbai and the Cricket Club of India held their colonial addresses behind the reclaimed strip, giving the quarter a settled edge against the newer glass along the bay.
