Where to stay in Borgata Paradiso

The practical side of choosing where to sleep.

The metro decides it. Borgata Paradiso holds the Paradiso and Fermi stations on line 1 of the Turin Metro, and Fermi is the western terminus, so a room here reaches central Turin without changing trains. The quarter itself is residential, with small workshops among the housing and a new shopping centre beside Fermi.

Beds are few. Most visitors to this side of the city stay in Turin and ride out, or take a room near the stations for the direct line in.

About Borgata Paradiso

What are the main landmarks in Borgata Paradiso?

The Madonna dei Poveri church is the quarter's landmark, built between 1979 and 1981 over a hall from 1960, with triangular external bays that looked futuristic at the time. Two avenues frame the rest. Corso Antony and Corso Montello cross the quarter with green strips down the middle.

The Aeritalia airfield borders it to the north and hosted the World Air Games in 2009, while Parco Paradiso, opened in 2011, lies just over the line in Grugliasco.

What is the history of Borgata Paradiso?

The name comes from a farm. The Cascina Paradiso stood on what is now Grugliasco ground until it was demolished in the early 1960s, and the quarter grew on both sides of the boundary, so part of Grugliasco south of Via Vandalino carries the name too. It is not the Borgata Paradiso of Settimo Torinese.

The metro arrived for the 2006 Winter Olympics, and a stop on the Turin to Modane railway opened at its southern edge in 2011.

Where is Borgata Paradiso?

Borgata Paradiso lies on the eastern side of Collegno, between the centre of Collegno to the west and the Turin quarter of Parella to the east, with Borgata La Quaglia of Grugliasco to the south.
