It is recorded as a site rather than as a residence, which is a different sort of survival from the one the Andō name managed. Kaneyū belongs to the working city. It appears on the register without a clan name or an excavation number, which places it among the things Noshiro still uses rather than among the things it merely keeps.
City status arrived in 1940. That date is younger than the Andō ruins by a wide margin and younger than the Sugisawadai Site by more, and it marks the point at which a set of older places in Akita Prefecture began to be administered as one. Isaka Memorial Hall came later still.
