The ward carries markers from two very different ages. In Shin-Yokohama, the Shin-Yokohama Raumen Museum gathers regional ramen styles under one roof and draws day-trippers off the arriving trains. Far older ground survives to the west, where the Komaoka Hyōtan-yama Kofun and the burial mounds around Komaoka record settlement here long before the port existed, while Yokohama Rapport serves the ward as a civic and community hall.
