Piecki-Migowo formed from two older settlements on the hills above Gdańsk. Piecki and Migowo were once separate villages, later absorbed as the city climbed onto the moraine and merged them under one name. Housing estates then covered the slopes, and the whole district came to be known as Morena.
The Divine Mercy church served the new parishes. Fields gave way to blocks.
