The set pieces sit just outside. Zuid-Museum, the quarter's neighbour to the north, holds the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp, M HKA and FOMU Photo Museum Antwerp within a walk of the newest streets. This ground came late to the city. Work on the 20-hectare quarter began in earnest around 2014, which places Nieuw Zuid among the youngest ground in Antwerp and gives it a street plan drawn in one go rather than accumulated. The Zuid-Museum streets beside it were laid out generations earlier.
That gap shows in the scale of the buildings, in the width of the streets, and in how sharply the two quarters change at their shared edge.
