Rooms here sit south of the old core. Sint-Andries keeps a plainer street pattern than the museum blocks north of it, and a bed among its houses still leaves Museum Plantin-Moretus, Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal and the Rubenshuis inside a short walk. Evenings run to small tables rather than terraces.
The Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp stands a few streets on, past the southern edge of the quarter.

MoMu carries the quarter's best-known name. The fashion museum of Antwerp sits among the shopfronts of Sint-Andries, and Museum Plantin-Moretus stands a few streets north at the seam with the old city. St. Andrew's Church holds the other pole of the quarter.
Walk ten minutes from it and the reach widens to Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal, the Rubenshuis, Antwerp City Hall and Het Steen, with the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp the same distance the other way.
What is the history of Sint-Andries?
A parish church set the name. Sint-Andries is called after St. Andrew's Church, and the quarter has carried that name on the south side of the centre while Antwerp raised the guild city whose Antwerp City Hall and Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekathedraal stand a short walk north. Museum Plantin-Moretus keeps the older ground at the quarter's northern seam.
Antwerp later folded Sint-Andries into its own district, and the boundary that results is administrative rather than anything the street pattern marks.
